GoHighLevel alternatives for owners who aren't agencies

HighLevel's $97 plan came to $124.98 for one med spa once usage was added, and $421.98 with HIPAA. Five alternatives priced today, and when staying put is the right call.

GoHighLevel's Starter plan is $97 a month. Run one med spa on it, send the reminders a med spa sends, and the bill comes to $124.98. Add HighLevel's HIPAA package and it is $421.98, every month, for an add-on HighLevel says cannot be canceled once it is on.

We make one of the products on this page. Read it with that in mind. Every price below was read on each company's own pricing or help page on November 3, 2026.

HighLevel's pricing page sells its $97 Starter plan to "smaller businesses and solo marketers" and its $297 Unlimited plan to "growing agencies". Most of what ranks for GoHighLevel alternatives is written for the second group. This page is for the first: the one-location barber, med spa, therapist or contractor who ended up on HighLevel because an agency or a course set it up.

The short answer. If you use GoHighLevel mainly for booking, reminders and a contact list, you are probably paying for a lot you don't touch, and a tool built for your kind of business will be simpler. If you use its funnels, its unlimited users or its multiple sub-accounts, it is hard to beat at $97, and you should stay.

Why single businesses look elsewhere

Three things on HighLevel's own pages explain why.

  • It is built around agencies. Sub-accounts, white labeling, "SaaS Mode" and rebilling your clients are the headline features. A single business uses none of them.
  • The subscription is not the whole bill. HighLevel's pricing page marks texting, calling, email marketing and its AI features as usage-based. Those charges come out of a prepaid wallet that refills itself from your card.
  • HIPAA costs $297 a month on top. HighLevel sells HIPAA compliance, with a signed BAA, as a $297 a month add-on on any plan, or inside its Enterprise plan, which has no public price. Its help center says the add-on cannot be canceled, refunded or downgraded once it is enabled. A therapist or med spa on Starter is not covered unless they buy it.

What GoHighLevel actually costs one location

Here is a single med spa on Starter, with rates from HighLevel's help center. The spa sends about 1,500 appointment reminder texts a month, gets about 300 replies, and sends 5,000 marketing emails.

  • 300 texts in$0.00747 a segment$2.24

With the HIPAA add-on, $297$421.98
Six lines before carrier surcharges, which HighLevel's help page does not list. Every text is assumed to fit in one 160-character segment; a longer reminder counts twice.HighLevel pricing page and help center (LC Phone guide updated October 12, 2026; email and AI guide October 29, 2026; A2P fee guide September 24, 2026; HIPAA guide June 11, 2026).

That assumes every text fits in one segment, which is 160 plain characters. A longer reminder counts twice. There is also a one-time registration fee of $22.50 for a low-volume business, and carrier surcharges per message that HighLevel's page does not list.

Add the AI Employee Growth plan at $50 a month per location and the bill is $174.98. If the spa needs HIPAA coverage, add $297 instead, and it is $421.98.

So a realistic number for one location is $125 to $175 a month, not $97, and more than $400 for a practice that needs a BAA. If an agency set up your account, you may be paying the agency a different price entirely. Ask for the line items.

HubSpot Starter Customer Platform, if you mostly need a CRM and email

  • Price. $10 per seat per month billed monthly, or $7 billed annually, marked as a limited-time offer. The regular price shown is $20 per seat. There is also a free CRM for 2 users and 1,000 contacts.
  • Included. Contact records, marketing email from your own domain, forms and landing pages, inbox sync and HubSpot Payments.
  • Limits. It is a CRM first. Appointment booking and text reminders are not what it is built around. Marketing email limits depend on how many marketing contacts you buy.

Pick HubSpot if your pipeline is quotes and follow-up emails rather than appointments.

Jobber, if you run crews in trucks

  • Price. Core is $49 a month billed monthly ($29 annually) for one user. Connect is $139 monthly ($99 annually) for one user and adds automated client reminders. Extra users are $29 a month each. The Marketing Suite is a $99 a month add-on below the Plus plan.
  • Card fees. 2.9% plus 30 cents online, 2.7% plus 30 cents with Tap to Pay, 1% for bank payments.
  • Limits. It is priced and built for home service teams. A salon or clinic would pay for quoting and job tools it never uses.

Pick Jobber if you send people to job sites and need quotes, scheduling and invoices in one place. dailybuilt has no routing or GPS, so for crews on the road Jobber is the better fit.

Vagaro, if you run chairs or treatment rooms and want new clients

  • Price. $23.99 a month for the first six months, then $30, for one calendar. Each extra calendar is $10 a month, and staff past the seventh are free.
  • Included. Online booking on Vagaro, Instagram, Facebook and Apple Maps, unlimited appointment reminders, 1,000 free emails a month and a free listing on the Vagaro marketplace.
  • Limits. Card processing rates are not published on the pricing page, so ask before you sign. Prices for its text marketing, branded app and website add-ons are not listed either.

Pick Vagaro if empty slots are your problem and you want a marketplace to fill them.

systeme.io, if you used GoHighLevel for funnels and courses

  • Price. Free for up to 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels and 1 course. Startup is $17 a month, Webinar $47, Unlimited $97.
  • Included. Funnels, unlimited email to your contacts, courses and simple automation rules.
  • Limits. Its pricing page lists booking calendar, CRM pipeline and SMS rows but did not show which plans include them when we read it. Check before you move a booking business onto it.

Pick systeme.io if what you really ran on GoHighLevel was a sales funnel and an email list.

dailybuilt, if you want booking, records and invoices in one place

This is our product, so judge it against the four above.

  • Price. Essentials is $29.99 a month for up to 5 staff, with booking, customer records, invoices, online card payments, your own domain, and text and email reminders from a shared dailybuilt number with no per-text charge. Foundation is $99 a month for up to 5 staff and adds automations, an inbox for website forms and email, documents and e-sign, and Google ad campaigns with tracked links. Scale is $249 for up to 15 staff.
  • Card fees. The standard online card rate of 2.9% plus 30 cents. dailybuilt adds no platform fee on any self-serve plan.
  • Trial. 30 days, no card needed.
  • Limits. No white label, no reselling to clients, no consumer marketplace, no routing or GPS, no deposits at booking, one location per workspace and no SOC 2 report yet.

Pick dailybuilt if you run one location and want booking, client records and invoices in one place, without building it yourself.

Stay on GoHighLevel if

  • You run more than one location or brand. Starter includes 3 sub-accounts.
  • You have a big team. Users and contacts are unlimited on every plan, so a 12-person team pays the same $97 as a team of one. Per-seat tools get expensive fast.
  • Your business runs on funnels and landing pages you have already built.
  • You are an agency, or plan to become one. White labeling and rebilling are what it does best.

Before you cancel, a migration checklist

  1. Export your contacts to a spreadsheet and check that tags and custom fields came with them.
  2. Write down every workflow that sends something to a client, with its trigger and timing. You will rebuild these by hand.
  3. Ask how to move your phone number out before you cancel, so clients keep texting the number they know.
  4. Ask your new tool how it registers your business for texting, and plan for that to finish before reminders go out.
  5. Export or note future appointments, open invoices and deposits already taken.
  6. Run both tools side by side for one week of bookings before you switch off reminders on the old one.
  7. If you bought the HIPAA add-on, ask HighLevel what happens to it and to your signed BAA when you close the account, and sign a BAA with your new tool before any client health information moves.

Questions people ask

How much does GoHighLevel cost? Starter is $97 a month, Unlimited $297 and Founder $497, or about two months free if you pay yearly. Texts, calls, emails and AI features are charged on top, from a prepaid wallet. For the med spa above, that added about $28 a month, or about $78 with the AI Employee plan. HIPAA is a $297 a month add-on.

Does GoHighLevel sign a BAA? Yes, as part of its HIPAA add-on at $297 a month, available on any plan, or included in Enterprise. Its help center says the add-on cannot be canceled, refunded or downgraded once enabled, and an agency has to switch HIPAA on for each sub-account.

Is there a free version of GoHighLevel? Not on its pricing page. There is a 14-day trial, and billing starts automatically when it ends unless you cancel. Usage charges for texts and calls can apply during the trial.

What kind of platform is GoHighLevel? An all-in-one marketing and CRM platform built mainly for agencies that run it for many clients. It covers a CRM, texting and calling, email marketing, review requests and AI chat, and agencies can resell it under their own brand.

Is GoHighLevel only for agencies? No. Its Starter plan is pitched at small businesses. But most of the product, and most of its pricing, is built around managing several client accounts.

What is the cheapest GoHighLevel alternative? On this page, systeme.io's free plan if you need funnels and email, HubSpot's free CRM if you need contacts, and Vagaro at $23.99 for booking. Check the card fees and add-ons before you count on the low price.
